Dr. Rita Carey has 20years experience providing career development services to individuals and groups interested in successful career transition or advancement.

Biography

Rita Carey is Director of RCM Associates, providing individual career coaching, career workshops and teleseminars. A certified professional coach, Dr. Carey has built a reputation for providing inspiration, support and resources for successful career management. She has managed Career Centers for General Electric, Pratt & Whitney (Connecticut), and the State of Massachusetts. As Executive Director of FutureWorks Career and Business Support Center in Massachusetts, a national award - winning One Stop Career Center, she directed services for over 24,000 job candidates and 2000 employers. Additionally, Dr. Carey has served as Director of Career Planning at the University of Maryland, School of Law, Career Advisor at Anne Arundel Community College and was affiliated with the Legal Career Consultation Practice of the late Deborah Arron, JD.

In her coaching practice, Rita assists clients who seek successful careers by identifying client strengths, work preferences, communication style and values. With assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC, PIAV, Workplace Values, Skills Sort, and FIRO B, clients gain an understanding or what career/job/environment will play to their strengths. With those insights and access to the most current data on job opportunities, clients have a winning combination upon which to develop an effective job search strategy.

Rita has been consulted by and quoted in the Wall Street Journal and on National Public Radio. She has presented to such organizations as the National Alliance of Business (NAB), Chesapeake Human Resource Association (CHRA), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), National Association for Law Placement (NALP), Chambers of Commerce, National Institutes of Health and the National Association of Counties (NACO).
